Making Connections to STEM Careers
Staff and volunteers will be able to connect their program to the work of STEM professionals and help students experience the practical application of STEM skills that professionals use on a day-to-day basis.
As a result of ongoing, consistent professional development efforts, staff and volunteers will be able to:
- Describe a range of STEM career pathways with youth.
- Identify options that youth have as part of the future STEM workforce.
- Introduce STEM role models that relate to the real world of the youth including gender, race, class and ethnicity.
- Connect activities they are facilitating to the practical application of skills that professionals use in their work.
